Our everyday lives, consumed by hectic schedules, major responsibilities at home and work, and other pressures leave us with very little to no time for ourselves. This leaves us feeling overwhelmed, resentful and stressed. But don’t lose hope; there is a better way…

Making time for ourselves, though often overlooked and neglected, is extremely important to our self esteem, general health and well-being.

Dedicating as little has 30 minutes a day for yourself can leave you feeling rested, relaxed and rejuvenated. You will feel energized and better prepared to carry out your daily responsibilities.

What can you do in as little as 30 minutes a day? I’m glad you asked!

Here are a few things I do to relax and unwind that don’t require a lot of time:

  • Exercise 3 times per week for 30 minutes
  • Take a walk on the beach
  • Meditate
  • Enjoy a bubble bath
  • Read a book or magazine on a topic I enjoy
  • Tune into my favorite sitcom

It all starts with you; if you are not well physically, mentally and spiritually you run the risk not being adequately prepared to assume the responsibilities in your personal, family and professional life.

What can you do today to make some time for yourself, and how would you spend that time?
